Otterbein's Growth Pathway

EVERYONE HAS A NEXT STEP. WHAT'S YOURS?

We hope our church can be a place where you connect to others and find a home. Here at our church, we believe in the core values of inclusivity and redemption, grace and love and, above all - the transforming power of Christ. We never arrive, but we are all committed to walking the journey together. Our dedicated team would love to connect with you and hear more of your story, and help find the best place for you to flourish.

We're so excited you're interested in learning more about who we are and joining the family!

GROW

grow your faith at otterbein

As Christians, new and old, we all need to know Jesus and his teachings in order to serve Him better.  One way to accomplish this is by studying his Word.  The Christian Education Committee strives to provide our congregation with opportunities to study the Word of God together through Sunday school classes and small study groups that meet at different times during the year.  These allow us to grow in discipleship and fellowship.

Serve

When asked what the greatest commandment is, Jesus answered with two: “You must love the Lord your God” and “You must love your neighbor as you love yourself” (Matthew 22:34-40).

Following Jesus's call, founder of the early Methodist movement John Wesley taught us to grow in our faith by “doing good of every possible sort, and, as far as possible, to all” (General Rules).

Opportunities

CONNECT

Small groups are vital to spiritual growth.  We invite and encourage you to attend one of our small groups (Adult Choir, Hand Bells, Blanket Ministry, Prayer Shawl or United Methodist Women).  Each group directly enhances the ministry of Otterbein UMC.

Ephesians 4: 11 - 15 tells us what the ministry of the church should be.  11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.  Our vision is to assist each person in our small groups to grow spiritually.  Come join us!
