Turning your ear to wisdom and
applying your heart to understanding...

Path of Discipleship

The Education Committee and others at Otterbein are offering studies throughout the week and at various times throughout the year. These are on various topics and are offered with the hope and prayer that we can all find something new to help us in our own individual paths of discipleship.

New study starting this Fall...

Disciple is a program of disciplined Bible study, giving the Old and New Testaments equal time, and emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. DISCIPLE I draws upon the work of scholars and includes personal Bible reading and study, and dynamic group discussions to aid in our understanding of the Bible. It is an organized, 34-week, deep, challenging and thought-provoking study. Week by week your knowledge of Scripture will grow, and your confidence in expressing your views will be strengthened. It will also help you develop strong study habits as you explore the context of Scripture in the culture for which it was written, as well as in our current culture. This class will be offered on Thursday nights beginning on September 5, with an orientation session on August 29. Watch for more details and a sign-up sheet as September approaches. Please contact church office for contact information.

Adult Sunday School Classes

New class members are always welcome!
Please do not think you have to wait for a new study to join!

Living In Faith Everyday

Sunday mornings 9:45 to 10:30 Room 12/13
May 5 until June 23 - This "Irresitible" study by Andy Stanley will invite you to embrace the version of faith that, against all odds, initiated a chain of events resulting in the most significant and extensive cultural transformation the world has ever seen. We are to embrace this version if we are to be salt and light in an increasingly savorless and dark world.
Sessions include: May 5) Simply Resistible; May 19) Brand-New Agreement; May 26) The Bible According to Jesus; June 2) The Irresistible Ethic; June 9) What Love Requires; and June 23) A New Approach. (Please note we will not be meeting May 12 or June 16.)

Brothers And Sisters In Christ

Sunday mornings 9:45 to 10:30 Room 8
Currently we are studying: Son of God, The Life of Jesus in You by Rick Warren.

Loyal Bible Class

Sunday mornings 9:45 to 10:30 Room 9/10
We are currently studying The International Lesson Series: Uniform Series in a 6-year plan for reading and studying the Bible. The International Uniform Series believes the Bible is the record of God in Christ, the key resource for understanding the Christian faith, being under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the fellowship of His Spirit.
Our Summer quarter is concentrated on the theme of Covenant in God and study of Scripture passages from Ruth, 1 Samuel, Ephesians, Colossians, and Hebrews. The fall quarter will concentrate on the theme of God’s World and God’s People in the Old Testament and study of Scripture passages from Genesis.
